For Social’s latest Terrarium themed outlet in Bellandur, we were brought on-board by Impresario to create a permanent AI-powered projection mapping experience. The multistoried, dome-shaped space seamlessly blends Bangalore’s vibrant urban life with the tranquility of nature.
Projection Mapping
The visuals were an outcome of creative and AI explorations drawing from the terrarium theme of the space & structure. Using Stable Diffusion and various depth models, we generated a diverse array of fascinating patterns found in natural ecosystems that bring the theme to life with unparalleled detail. These were further manipulated, composited and animated to give the projection experience a dynamic and organic look and feel - reflecting the spirit of a thriving, biodiverse ecosystem.

From the CAD Drawings, masks and depth maps were extracted to define canvas constraints, ensuring content was generated as per the architectural shape.
Base stills were rendered and used as reference images for AI models, which crafted visuals aligned with the nature and terrarium themes.
The generated images were interpolated to smooth transitions between clips and upscaled to the required high resolution, creating seamless AI-generated videos.
The AI-generated visuals were combined with procedurally generated content to produce a cohesive and dynamic output.
Previsualization played a crucial role for this project due to the unique challenges posed by the structure. Its complex geometry required precise calculations to ensure a seamless projection mapping experience, which were achieved using Pixera. Using these, we were able to share a detailed 3D preview of how the visuals would look in the space, saving a lot of time and effort turning this idea into reality in the execution phase.
The projection mapping was done using MadMapper, set up to align seamlessly with the unique structure. The projectors were discreetly concealed within the structure, securely mounted and sealed for a clean and seamless setup.
To keep things simple and reliable, we configured the installation to automatically start each day, mixing random visuals in a plug-and-play format. This design keeps the installation dynamic and fresh, offering visitors a constantly evolving experience that stays true to the terrarium-inspired theme.
